Leslie surprised us one weekend by telling us she wanted to serve a mission. We were very excited that she had made this choice in her life and know it will be a great experience for her. After weeks of doctor appointments and interviews with her Bishop and Satke President, all the paperwork was filled out and her papers were submitted to Salt Lake. It was only about 10 days latter that an envelope from the First Presidency arrived. The only problem was that Mike and I were in Salt Lake! Poor kid had to wait three days till we got home to open it and find out her assignment. We all assembled and cell phones were on hand to have Melissa and Kelly there with us for the news and she is going to...Peoria, Illinois. Her mission also includes Nauvoo and Carthage! She is so excited and is looking forward to serving the Lord there.
Along with this Leslie has been to the temple for the first time. It was a very special experience for us to be in the temple with her. She has prepared herself well and we are so proud of her.
